Help drive the Hibbing Area’s Economic Development

The Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking its next President. The Hibbing Area Chamber is a non-profit organization, led by business owners and managers, who design and implement programs to drive growth and improve the overall business climate.

The Chamber represents over 300 members that employ people in all business types and sizes. The President is the chief spokesperson of the Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce and is responsible for the overall operation of the organization.

KEY TASKS PERFORMED:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the business, including supervision of staff
  • Works with the Board of Directors in developing, tracking and reporting to the annual budget
  • Develops Annual Business Plans and carries out all Board initiatives
  • Coordinates public relations and marketing efforts for all Chamber programs and services
  • Promotes Chamber membership and is responsible for membership sales and retention
  • Works directly and provides administrative support to all Chamber committees
  • Attends all Chamber events, unless otherwise specified

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree desired
  • Demonstrates understanding, interest and ability to promote local business and economic growth and diversity
  • Displays proven leadership characteristics (Organization, Negotiation, and Diplomacy)
  • Organizational management experience of a comparable organization, preferably a non-profit with a proven record
  • Previous Chamber experience preferred although not required
  • Strong understanding of public policy as it relates to local, regional and state government
  • Ability to maintain a separation of personal, public, and political positions
  • Flexibility in work schedule
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Internet, social media and Microsoft Office 365
